Founded in 2010 by Alison North and the IRMS, this award is aimed at celebrating some of the diverse and brilliant talent that we have coming into the industry.
Alison has always been a firm supporter of new talent and was the patron of the award until 2024, passing the baton to Scott Sammons after her retirement. Scott is himself a previous NPA winner and previous Chair of the Society – an example that NPA winners can go on to do anything!
So whether you are a student studying something information-related, or you are within three years of starting in the profession, take a look and see if the NPA can boost your learning and your career!
Lighthouse IG and Scott are both proud to be patrons and official supporters of the award. Its our way of supporting the profession and giving back for future generations.
Who is it for?
All ‘new professionals’ that are either in an apprenticeship or in full time education in a topic related to ‘information’.
What does it offer?
Either a cash prize of £500 to be spent on professional books and resources or a fully funded place at the IRMS Conference in May. You’ll also get a wide range of additional benefits like access to Scott as a mentor for at least a year.
